Fender 1965/2000 Mustang MG-65 Hybrid w/Rosewood – Daphne Blue

A beautiful marriage of old and new parts – an early 2000s Japanese MG-65 body with hotter set of pickups from Curtis Novak, but the star of the show is the neck, it’s a real 1965 USA Fender rosewood neck with pale clay dots with new vintage 6105 ‘tall – narrow’ frets, and with new vintage button style tuners and new bone nut applied to the old, old wood. Lots of wear, as you’d expect from something now pushing 60 years old. The neck is marked ‘8Jun65B’ The string tree is original to the instrument, as is the finish on the neck, decals etc. The re-fret was done by the guys at Eric’s Guitars in Van Nuys, California. Comes in an original 60s hardcase with working latches and catches, and tremolo arm. All the usual in an out of phase switching is stock, makes lots of great noises, has mad energy, looks and feels great doing it. Weighs 7lb and 6oz and is setup on 10s. Camera doesn’t quite capture the Daphne Blue, can look a little too light in the photos.

Condition

Very good condition. All wiring, hardware, frets, pickups and electronics are in excellent condition. The guitar has a few nicks and small dents, hard to spot, light hazing, scratches, playwear and patina. Neither the neck or the body is new, each has wear and patina, but is functionally excellent and feels amazing. Wiring is upgraded to vintage cloth type. The instrument is aging gracefully. The case hinges, latches and catches are present and function well, but the little springs no longer pop those latches up when opened. See the pictures, ask for more.
