1990 Fender AVRI Vintage Reissue 62 Stratocaster – Surf Green
A vintage Vintage Reissue from Fender, one of the last out of the original facility in Fullerton, California in rare Surf Green nitro lacquer finish. Fresh from a full setup including fret level, crown and polish with the guys at Eric’s Guitar Shop in Van Nuys, CA, one of Los Angeles’ best luthiers. A 1962 Vintage Reissue from the factory in Surf Green with dark, rich rosewood fretboard, rare and beautiful. Slab rosewood fretboard, nitro Surf Green finish in excellent condition, aging nicely. Great condition with a clean neck and good frets, fantastic looking and feeling, this is one amazing instrument. It weighs just over 8lbs, has a beautiful maple neck with a deep, dark rosewood fretboard and pale clay dot inlays with 21 frets. The 3-way was swapped for a 5-way switch, a common mod at the time and in the day and to this day. The original 3 way is included. Check out the case candy that comes with this thing, including the hangtag that dates it to 9-22-90, and marks it out as a rare and interesting in near time-capsule condition. Born on Bilbo’s birthday – September 22nd in the year 1990, I’m calling it Gollum Green. Comes in the original hardcase. Weighs a hair over 8lb and is setup on 10’s.
Condition is 9/10 for lacquer aging (gracefully), one or two small flaws. Not new, not pristine, just excellent.

Lightest play wear, aging nicely with some yellowing of the nitro lacquer, one or two small flaws in the finish, but overall, it’s amazingly clean considering the age of the instrument. Comes with all tags, certificates, everything from the factory included in the case, tremolo arm, original 3-way, ashtray cover etc. The lacquer behind the tuners on the headstock has flaked slightly, this is the worst flaw in the instrument, nothing you see or touch, hard to spot. The decals on top of the finish are vintage spec, nitro lacquer. Lots more pictures of this one at my site, deegearlocker dotcom, ask for more.
