Fender Vintage Mustang USA/MIJ Hybrid – 1975 – Daphne Blue

This heavily patinated 1975 original Fender Mustang neck is paired with an early 2000s Fender Japan Mustang body in glorious Daphne Blue to make this amazing USA/Japan vintage hybrid. The neck pickup is a vintage wind single with a Curtis Novak in the bridge position. Lots of wear and patina on the neck, light wear on the body. A tortoiseshell 4 ply pickguard is loaded with the full vintage in-and-out of phase switches, all wiring is vintage cloth. The bridge is an upgraded AVRI type with Mustang saddles with wrapped post for rock solid tuning stability. The neck plate, string trees and 70s style vintage button tuners are original to the neck, dating to Fullerton, 1975, with the original neck plate with serial from the factory. Weighs 7lbs and 8oz, setup on 10s. Comes in a vintage Fender offset case with working latches and catches.

Condition

Overall, very good condition. Not new, not pristine. A nice collection of old, new and vintage parts that show wear and age. The poly finish on the Mustang body shows very light wear around the controls and bridge, one or two small flaws and dings. The neck shows plenty of wear and patina, nitro heavily worn from the sides and back. Most of the hardware is modern, pickups and wiring are not original – modern vintage cloth type wiring throughout with original shielding from the MG-65 body.
