Fender Vintage Musicmaster-Jagstang Hybrid – 1978/2005 – Faded Fiesta Red

Vintage 1978 24″ scale USA made Fender 24″ Musicmaster neck with vintage original F tuners and string tree added to a refinished Fender Japan Jagstang body with a vintage single coil pickup in the neck and D’Marzio Super Distortion DP100 added to the bridge. This makes for a hugely versatile instrument with the Mustang/Jagstang in-and-out of phase controls. The Jagstang body was refinished years ago in beautiful Faded Fiesta Red by Pat Wilkins in Van Nuys, CA. Mustang bridge with wrapped posts for tuning stability, Mustang Dynamic Vibrato tailpiece. Setup on 10s, comes in an original Mustang 60s case with 2 working latches. A belt replaces the missing catch, vintage racecar style. Who knew a Jagstang fit in a vintage Mustang case? It looks good in there, weighs 7lb 6oz and is setup on 10s.

Condition

Not much on this instrument is new or pristine. The paint is generally excellent, is the newest part of the instrument. The neck shows lots of patina, metal and plastic show light playwear fitting something 50-years old. A Musicmaster is supposed to be a 22.5″ scale guitar, but many, including this one, were paired with 24″ necks by mistake.
