2022 Gibson SG Standard – Vintage Cherry – Maestro Vibrola
The SG Standard ‘61 Maestro Vibrola returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved — shaping sound across generations and genres of music. As the name implies, the Gibson SG Standard ’61 Maestro Vibrola adds vibrato capability to the SG Standard ’61. The Maestro Vibrola offers smooth vibrato effects and the classic styling of the Lyre engraving on the tailpiece cover. Standard features include a SlimTaper mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard. The mahogany body features a deeply sculpted body scarfing, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard, and a 22nd-fret neck joint. The nickel-plated hardware includes a classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and Keystone tuners in addition to the Maestro Vibrola Tailpiece. The pickups are 60s Burstbucker humbuckers for a classic voice with added power and top end. Controls feature audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors.
As one of the pioneering electric guitars in rock music the SG has killer sustain and blazing rock sound. It features the legendary Gibson SG build quality in a lightweight body and dual humbucking pickups. The SG Standard is built with a mahogany body and neck in a double cutaway design. The mahogany neck features a long tenon 19th fret neck joint, and runs right into the body for great sustain with every note. It also has a 24.75″ scale length and rounded profile for a great feel. Medium jumbo frets are clean and don’t show any wear over the clean rosewood fretboard, the guitar is setup on 10s.
The 2022 Gibson SG Standard Vintage Cherry weighs 7lbs and 13oz, with stock nickel hardware and electronics. All the weight is in the body with the bright chrome hardware, no neck dive with the Kluson tuners.
Condition is 9.5/10 for lightest wear, essentially un-played. Beautiful, where mint meets excellent, presents as nearly new, dating to 2022. Comes with original packing slip, tools, baby picture, cloth in its original Gibson hard case.
