2013 Gibson SG Standard – Vintage Cherry – Sideways Vibrola

The SG™ Standard ‘61 Sideways Vibrola™ returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved — shaping sound across generations and genres of music. As the name implies, the Gibson SG Standard ’61 Sideways Vibrola is equipped with the unique Sideways side-pull action vibrato similar to those found on the early 60s models. Standard features include a SlimTaper™ mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard. The mahogany body features a deeply sculpted body scarfing, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard, and a 22nd-fret neck joint. The nickel-plated hardware includes a classic-style Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Keystone tuners in addition to the Sideways Vibrola tailpiece. The pickups are 60s Burstbucker™ humbuckers™ for a classic voice with added power and top end. Controls feature audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors. The SG Standard ‘61 with Sideways Vibrola dates to 2013 and is a bit of case queen, the guitar is setup on 10s. Dark rosewood fretboard with clean binding and excellent frets.

The 2022  Gibson SG Standard Vintage Cherry weighs a willowy 6lbs and 15oz, with stock nickel hardware and electronics. All the weight is in the body with the bright chrome hardware, no neck dive with the vintage Kluson tuners.

Condition is an easy 9/10 for lightest wear, one small ding. Beautiful, excellent, presents extremely well. Comes with original packing slip, truss rod tool and Gibson pamphlet, in its original Gibson hard case.

Condition

Very little wear on this, see the rice-grain sized ding on the front above the strings – light swirls in the nitro, a very excellent thing in excellent condition. There’s a tiny vertical impression on the back of the neck, probably from a hanger, there’s a slight impression visible under harsh light on the bass side of the headstock corner, probably from a clip on tuner.
