1985 Gibson Designer Flying V

This 1985 Gibson Designer Flying V is completely original, down to the strap buttons. The pickups are the stock Dirty Fingers, the Kahler is a Gibson branded unit from the factory, and the graphics applied to the classic white nitro are complete, look great, make this quite the unique thing and very definitely not trad Gibson. Rare as it gets, this one is on 9’s with a pro setup from the guys at Eric’s Guitars in Van Nuys, California. Condition is 8/10, aging gracefully with discoloration and wear, checking and patina, looks like what it is, pushing past 40 years young now, comes in original hard case with an 80s brown vinyl period correct gig-bag included. Weighs 8lb and 2oz, setup on D’Adario 9-42 strings. Rare, original and beautiful, obviously for the very few.

Condition

The condition is extremely good with very few areas of missing color along the edges and on the back of the headstock. The guitar has aged to a warm butter color, not evenly by any means. There are various areas of wear, checking etc. 40+ year old nitro is doing the nitro thing, looking good doing it. The strap button from the lower horn was moved to the back of the guitar and the original hole was plugged.  There are various light dings and marks, flaws and impressions. The instrument is stock including all hardware and pickups. The Kahler was overhauled with new rollers when it was setup.
