1965 Fender MG65 Mustang Custom – Daphne Blue
1965 Fender Mustang B neck dated 8 June of that year with a rosewood board and bright shiny new frets and a bone nut by the guys at Eric’s Guitars in Van Nuys, California on a Fender body is a Fender Japan from roughly 2002, all the hardware is genuine Fender, the pickups are from Curtis Novak. Plays like a modern instrument, feels and looks like a relic from a different age. Comes in a beautiful Daphne Blue finish that my camera can’t seem to capture. Nitro still on the vintage neck.
This one weighs in at 7lb and 11oz and is setup on 10s with a fresh pro setup from Eric’s Guitars. Comes with a tremolo arm in original 60s Mustang case.
Condition is 8/10. Clean, presents as very good, instrument of two parts. The neck is 60 years young this year, not much besides the pickups and plastics are new on this, even the body is nearly a quarter century old.
Condition
This is my favorite kind of instrument; something old on something new(er). See the pictures, ask for more. As always, there are more pictures on my site, deegearlocker.com, than Reverb will host. The case is missing it’s catch, but the latches and hinges are good, it’s held shut now with a leather strap, racing car style.
